PHRASEOLOGICAL REPRESENTATION OF LINGUOCULTURAL CONSTANTS “MASKULINITY / FEMININITY” (IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE GERMAN LANGUAGE)

Abstract

This article is primarily about the study of the representation of such constants in the German linguoculture as “femininity / masculinity”, which are reflected their national cultural in the phraseological system. The contraposition “masculinity - femininity” is described as the opposition of two cultural constants; examples of research on the material of the semantic structure of words are given. The subject of the study includes examples of the phraseological composition of the German language, representing the investigated constants in German linguistics. The aim of the work is to analyse the representation of cultural constants of femininity / masculinity on the material of German phraseological and paroemiological units. At the same time, femininity and masculinity are considered as linguocultural constants of the German linguistic zones; a linguistic manifestation of these constants in German proverbs and sayings is revealed; the main characteristics of the investigated constants are established. The basis of the study includes the methods and principles of the study of the concept based on linguoculturological approach. There are phraseological units in German linguoculture which, as follows from its content, have to do with the women's appearance and character concerning the social status and women's behavior. In most cases, there is a negative connotation of femininity. In German linguistics, masculinity is labeled to a lesser degree, which is basically represented by the man's business qualities. The results of the research can be used to study the national and cultural features of the main constants that form a universal worldview of the people. Gender stereotypes in speech are analyzed in the context of sociolinguistic research, namely a holistic approach. Special attention is being paid to to the analysis and comparison of femininity / masculinity in German phraseological units, which reflect such values of the German people as: order, coziness, thrift.
