Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of linguistic borrowings in the discourse of mass-media. The language functions in the language which develops as a system, so it constantly needs support in the language and the reflections in the changes which stimulates linguistic processes. Lexical borrowings are considered to be one of the sources of formation neologisms. Their study gives an opportunity to trace a complexity of linguistic processes, mixture of intra- and extralinguistic phenomena in the language, the influence of the latter on different links in a language structure. New vocabulary in mass-media is of peculiar interest to scholars as a word in this sphere of life should possess expressiveness, draw the attention of the audience. The article underlines that as a result of a description of borrowings conceptual values of the people based on their mentality can be singled out
