Abstract
The article deals with the concept of “onomastic space of a literary text”, and with the issues of a character-nomination process in the linguistic-cultural paradigm. A proper noun in a literary text often works as a key to a holistic perception of a piece of art in general, and helps to understand characters' behavior.
The authors explore principles of onomastic space forming on A. Grin's extravaganza “Alye Parusa”. Onomastic space components such as anthroponyms, toponyms, mythonyms etc. are studied through their interconnections. Parallels are drawn between the character's image and the motivation of its onym, the methods of its creation and origins are established. The paper considers the symbolism of names, their associative connections with the theme, the idea, and the system of the literary work's characters. The connecting links between the fields of the onomastic space of the literary text are identified.
