Abstract
The phenomenon of discourse becomes more and more popular in contemporary social and humanitarian scientific disciplines in general and in various disciplines of linguistics in particular. But in each of these disciplines and in variety of schools the essence of the notion of discourse is understood differently. In the article we give the characteristics of the existing approaches to discourse phenomenon of various linguistic disciplines, summarize the existing approaches to the discourse research. As the perspective of linguistic & rhetorical paradigm and teo-anthropo-cosmic paradigm, from the semiotic point of view, the multi-level approach to the discourse research is offered. This approach, presenting the matrix of the basic research levels, should help the scientists to consider the Anthropic principle of the development of the human (as a linguistic personality) in the framework of his generating system – Universe (Metagalaxy)
