Abstract
The rapid population growth and urbanization has led to the pollution of water bodies. The present study was carried out on the physico-chemical parameters of Dal lake, Kashmir. The samples were collected in two different seasons winter and autumn. The results were compared with each other. On the basis of the results, it has been concluded that the lake water has been polluted over a period of time due to denudation and siltation. Dal lake receives waste water from all STPs and has become dumping site for all wastes. Hence, the lake water has been stated unfit for human use and consumption. The main aim of this study was to check the water quality of Dal lake which have gone under anthropogenic change over a period of time.
