Abstract
The aim of this project is to design and simulate a hybrid wind-solar energy system: a new rectifier stage topology open loop and closed loop controlled boost convertor are molded and simulated using the blocks of simulates. This convertor has advantages like reduced hardware and improved efficiency.. The fused multi input rectifier stage also allows Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) to be used to extract maximum power from the wind and sun when it is available. An adaptive MPPT algorithm will be used for the wind system and a standard perturb and observe method will be used for the PV system. Operational analysis of the proposed system will be discussed in this project using ABC algorithm. The simulation of open loop and closed loop will be done using MATLAB simulink. The hardware will be implemented using PIC16F84. Simulation results are given to highlight the merits of the proposed circuit.
