Abstract
‘Rajmala’, the famous chronicle of Tripura dynasty, is a historical poem. This famous book contains the legends of the reign of kings of the small hilly state Tripura. The main objective of the paper is to explore the position of women in the medieval period which is portrayed in the historical poem Rajmala. In that period women did not have the right to lead a life of freedom as patriarchal society had many restrictions and limitation for the women. Women position in society was deteriorated during the medieval period. Most of the time womens were sexually exploited by the king. The pathetic picture of women of that period will be given in details in main paper.
