THE USE OF FORECASTING TECHNIQUES IN MAKING DECISIONS IN LIGHT OF THE CORONA-19 PANDEMIC A FIELD STUDY IN THE JORDANIAN HEALTH SERVICES COMPANIES - JORDAN

Abstract
This study aimed to measure the extent to which decision-makers use qualitative and quantitative prediction techniques in making decisions in the institutions of Jordanian health services companies in Jordan in light of the Corona pandemic. This study had several results, the most important of which are: that the degree of knowledge of decision-makers in forecasting techniques in the institutions under study is average (61.04%), and that the extent of their use of qualitative prediction techniques in decision-making is average (2.88), while the use of quantitative prediction techniques was to a degree not used. With a mean of (1.77) despite their relying on the simple moving averages method to a high degree and a mean of (3.97), and that the most important qualitative techniques used Experience style. As for the most limiting factors that limit its application according to what the results of the tests have revealed about the significance of the impact, we find the centrality of decisions, lack of good understanding of forecasting techniques, management success of management without it, reliance on experience, lack of specialists, lack of information, lack of a specialized department in its application Weak communication channels. The results of the study also indicated that there are statistically significant differences for the demographic variables about the extent of using prediction techniques for the benefit of the male sample members whose age is more than 46 years, and they occupy the position of deputy head of the department and their experience exceeds 25 years of university level.
