Abstract
The article investigated the competitive position of the Ukrainian state-owned banks in comparison with the largest commercial banks, representatives of the private sector. The main characteristics on which the state banks concede private has been defined. The main advantages and disadvantages of state-owned banks that have an impact on their competitiveness has been defined.
