Abstract
The article deals with the features of the female characters in P. D. Boborykin’s novel ?The Evening Victim?, the artistic means with the help of which the novelist creates a number of bright and original characters. The positive images of heroines are carriers of the ethical ideal of the writer and it has the important meaning in the revealing of ideological novel content that have been mentioned. Potraying women-emansipe, the writer exposes the ugly manifestation of women’s emancipation. He offen uses artistic means as zoologizms, caustic irony, satire, grotesque in the description of the appearance, facial expressions, gestures and movements of these heroines. The author is a follower of the artistic traditions of the realists in the female images that reflect the Russian reality of the second half of the XIX century that have been revealed.
