Abstract
Grid is proposed to solve large scale and complicated problems, and it is a form of parallel computing on Internet. Scheduling in grid is one of the most important technologies in grid system, and it is a NP complete problem, which is used to schedule a task on an appropriate grid node. In this paper, a novel scheduling algorithm, called hybrid ABC is proposed for job scheduling problems, especially, for realizing load balancing in Grids. In this paper, a hybrid Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) with Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) Algorithm is used to solve this problem. Considering that the two algorithms have complementary characteristics, we combine them together and find out a better optimization results through this new approach. Experimental results have demonstrated the feasibility and effectiveness of our proposed approaches
