ROLE OF HR IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF LONG- AND SHORT-TERM TRAINING AND ITS IMPACT ON ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE IN RETAIL SECTOR

Abstract
The study aimed to examine the role of HR in short and long term training programs and its impact on organizational performance in the retail sector. Data was collected from 200 HR personnel of different retail organizations using a 5-point Likert survey questionnaire. The data analysis was done by using 22nd version of SPSS and regression analysis was carried out. It was found in the study that HR has an important role to play in training of employees. Both short and long term training programs effectively contribute to the achievement of organizational performance in the retail sector. Moreover, it was found that the short term training programs are more effective in comparison to long term training programs to improve organizational performance. The study provides insight into the role that is played by HR in training of employees The findings of this study can be used by HR professionals to design effective training program.
