Abstract
Training assumes greater significance for the survival of any organization. To maintain pace with the fast changing environment, organizations should have knowledgeable, experienced and dynamic workforce specially in the case of banking sector. So the banks need to be focused on training and development practices. In present era the importance of training has been increasing due to technological changes which demands updated knowledge, skills, technical expertise and capabilities. The objectives of this research study are: To explore the factors which affect training practices of both SBI and Axis bank ltd. and to compare the satisfaction level of employees regarding training practices on the basis of explored factors. Data is collected through structured questionnaire from respondents. Findings of the study highlights that there is a significant difference among the perception of employees of both the banks under study regarding Training and Development practices and steps should be taken to overcome the weaknesses in the prevailing training practices, if exists any
