Scientific Bases of Investigation of Processes of Transregional Integration as a Factor of Enhancing Competitiveness

The conceptual apparatus, preconditions of trans-regional integration processes and methodological bases of the analysis of trans-regional integration in Ukraine have been considered with the purpose to examine the problems and perspectives of trans-regional integration processes of the regions' economies in the context of competitiveness increasing. Methods used in the study: methods of analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction. Currently, the scientific literature does not present the only common theory that would provide a universal interpretation of facts describing the preconditions and consequences of economic integration of the regions. It has been researched that the estimation of trans-regional integration processes in order to increase competitiveness presupposes the following algorithm: Stage 1. Scenario (the purpose of the wording and the choice of analysis, the study of normative and legislative literature in the field of regulating the processes of European integration of selected areas and industries, familiarization with the results of the work of responsible state bodies and local authorities); Stage 2. Correctional (choice of criteria and indicators of efficiency (effectiveness of optimality); choice of analytical tools and approval of the calculation procedure, definition of the list of output data and refinement of the system analytical indicators); Stage 3. Calculation. (calculation of the indicated indicators); Stage 4. Diagnostic (the choice of the level of detail of the analysis and the form of presentation of the results, analysis of the effectiveness of the functioning of trans-regional integration links); Stage 5. Summarizing (characteristics of interregional investment projects, implementation of SWOT-analysis, application of foresight technology, formation of recommendations and regulatory documents in order to facilitate the expansion of trans-regional integration processes and the establishment of an investment climate and competitiveness). To date, there is no interpretation of the processes of trans-regional integration as a factor in increasing their competitiveness. The substantiation of scientific approaches to the study of trans-regional integration allows us to find out the effectiveness of such economic ties and their impact on the competitiveness of the territories, what will allow to use the data in the process of forming regional development strategies.
