Abstract

The article deals with theoretical analysis of the motivational component of intercultural competence formation of future specialists of socionomic professions. The essence of professional activity of representatives of socionomic professions is outlined in the active work with people in order to help them and solve their problems, which requires not only professional knowledge, skills and abilities, psychological stability, but also motivation for carrying out the specified activity, culture of behavior, professional competence. The emphasis was placed on the distinction between the functional features of the concepts of “multicultural (intercultural) competencies” and “multicultural (intercultural) competence” in close connection with the category “motivation”. The approaches of different scholars (O. Gurenko, T. Guryanova, R. Kravets, M. Simonenko, L. Cherednichenko) to the interpretation of multicultural competence as an important component of professional competence are revealed. It is generalized that the structural components of multicultural competence include motivational-value, cognitive (emotional) and active (T. Guryanova, L. Danilova). It is noted that the motivation of the work of specialists of socionomic professions can be considered as a complex, hierarchically constructed system of attitudes and incentives, which includes interests, aspirations, needs, emotions, values orientations. The essence of motivation as a system of determinants, causes, incentives, motives, which induces a person to work activity is outlined. The relationship between motivation, self-actualization and sensory formation (N. Baksheyeva, J. Verna, D. Leontiev, A. Maslow) is revealed. The interrelation between the process of formation of intercultural society in Ukraine and the necessity of training future specialists of socionomic professions to work in a multicultural environment, that is, the need to form students not only in professional, but also in intercultural competence, is substantiated.
