Abstract
Due to the advent of the fourth industrial revolution, uncertainty is rising and efforts are busy to lead the fourth industrial revolution among countries. Innovation activities to secure competitiveness seem essential in order not to fall behind in environmental changes. However, many companies do not recognize or ignore the importance of innovative activities because they face the problem of survival. Globalization and rapid changes in technology make innovation the most important core competitive power for the survival and growth of enterprises. Consequently, an entity is committed to creating innovation through constant innovation activities for continuous growth. However, creating innovation requires a long, steady investment and results are uncertain. In order to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the government's innovation policies, accurate understanding of the field conditions of companies that do not or do not perform innovation is essential and important. In addition, it is important to set policy directions such as improving competitiveness of domestic industries through data collection and analysis on innovative activities of domestic companies in the face of various and structural industrial changes such as the 4th Industrial Revolution. Therefore, this study aims to identify the rate of innovation activities to strengthen the R&D capabilities of Korean manufacturing companies, and provide implications that can be used for enhancing their understanding and innovation research.
