SUPERVISION OF THE VALUES AND IDENTITIES OF THE YOUTH IN THE POLITICAL IMAGE OF THE PETITIH PROVERBS OF NEGERI SEMBILAN

This research is done to identify the supervision of values in the political image of the Negeri Sembilan community through the petitih proverbs from Radio Malaysia NEGERI fm. The contents include those from local traditions, customary laws, rules, etc. The proverbs in this study are those that have been recited on air through Radio Malaysia Neger ifm. This study is conducted with documentation and textual sources. The basis of this study is parsed from the principles of individualism from the Textualism theory by Mana Sikana. The results of this research shows that the values found in the politics of Adat Perpatih community have influenced the Petitih proverbs of Radio Malaysia NEGERI fm. The proverbs themselves play a significant role in conveying the essence of the political values found in Adat Perpatih in a neat and succinct way. The implications of this study shows that the Petitih proverbs can have a positive ef ect on teens in shaping their own solid personal values and identity.
