Abstract

On the basis of the analysis of European normative documents, comparative pedagogical scientific works, the mechanism of social partnership in the education of adults of the Greek republic was studied, its positive contributions and negative consequences for the functioning of the education system as a whole were analyzed. In particularly, the study was found that all the fiscal constraints, associated with austerity policies as a result of a protracted economic crisis had a negative impact on the status of the teaching profession and the conditions of remuneration of teachers. Also, it has been proved that the EU's social partners in the field of education can play an important role through the dissemination of best practices and the development of recommendations. Thus, the emphasis on lifelong learning in the form of continuous vocational training through the well-tuned mechanism of social partnership determines the need for radical adult education, in the current socio-economic context in Greece, is particularly relevant. The prospect of further research in this direction may be the study of the peculiarities of social partnership in pedagogical education in Southern Europe.
