Abstract
Professional development and self-education is the basic way to keep up with the progress of general knowledge, as well as the progress of your own specialty and professional preparation. The obligation to update knowledge is a necessity resulting from the accelerated development of science and technology as well as the dynamics of social life. In the modern world knowledge (information, skills and social competences) can be deepened by classical methods, such as „a live word” and studying literature. The knowledge can also be deepened by the use of modern technologies, such as computer programs, the Internet and websites, as well as through international exchanges of teachers and students. A significant role in the evolution of the learning process, including lifelong learning, has been played by international educational reports.
