Abstract
This article considers modern approaches of teaching a second foreign language to undergraduate stu- dents of language universities in Russia. The main purpose of the study is to learn the current state of teaching a second foreign language in bilingual setting of the national republics in Russia, such as Republic of Sakha (Ya- kutia). All indigenous people of this area are bilinguals: they know their native and Russian language from their birth. The results of research validated that there are no insufficient researches on approaches of teaching a se- cond foreign language to bilingual undergraduate students in higher education of Russia
