Abstract
Self-concept is studied within the framework of cognitive, humanistic, functional, interactionistic, ontopsychological approaches. E. Erickson and E. Fromm viewed the development process as the goal of maturi- ty. Revealing the patterns of the influence of the self-concept on personal maturity will contribute to the devel- opment of the “self-concept” as a significant internal mechanism of the personality, thanks to which a person is able to consciously reach psychological maturity. In practice, this will make it possible to maximize the use of situations of uncertainty and regulatory crises as a source of movement towards maturity. Empirical research has partially confirmed the assumptions put forward
