Abstract
The article investigates the problem of income inequality of the population at the global level. An assessment of the effectiveness of fiscal policy measures in smoothinginequality is given, namely, the "redistributive effect of fiscal policy" is reflected. By comparing the values of the Gini coefficients of “pre-fiscal” income and the values of the Gini coefficients of “post-fiscal” income in different countries of the world, the indicator of the “redistribution effect of fiscal policy” was calculated. Revealed effective fiscal instruments to reduce inequality in income distribution.
