Abstract

This paper highlights the results of theoretical and methodological analysis of psychological approaches to the problem of occupational health of teachers. The theoretical and methodological basis of the study was an integrative approach that combined the ontological concept of the subjective world of the individual; subjective approach in its general psychological and professional-psychological variants; semantic approach to personality, the concept of personal meaning «I» and the concept of «psychology of personality», in which occupational health is considered as a dynamic system of semantic structures and processes. Occupational health provides actualization of internal mechanisms of regulation of self-preserving behavior of an employee, active-positive desire for his/her preservation, support and development. The concept of organizational development and change management in the organization in conditions of social tension and the concept of stress, where the main emphasis is on the analysis of potential threats to the occupational health of teachers, has acquired new meaning within the research problem. The ontological perspective of understanding the internal content and structural-dynamic characteristics of occupational health allows us to assess this phenomenon as an ability to make optimal changes, as a qualitative and quantitative characteristic that meets the best professional norm and reflects the optimal ability of effective functioning, professional development and longevity of an employee. The paper emphasizes that the optimality of occupational health is a relative property and is determined not in relation to the natural condition of an employee, but in relation to the professional requirements within a particular type of professional activity. In psychological interpretations of the internal content of occupational health of teachers, it is important to determine the structural-dynamic characteristics of the studied phenomenon: ontological meaning, ontological status and ontological properties. The integrative approach reveals the high subjective significance of the occupational health of the teacher, because his/her awareness is an internal mechanism of self-regulation of professional activity and motivates the behavior of maintaining and developing health.
