Abstract
The article is noted that general technical training is one of the important components of the system of students' vocational training in technological and pedagogical and engineering and pedagogical area of expertise. It is emphasized, such training creates a solid foundation for the study of disciplines of subject specialization, contributes to the broad competitiveness of specialists. However, in today's conditions, it needs a qualitative update.
The aim of the article is to analyze the educational methods, techniques, and technologies that contribute to the activation of students' study-and-cognitive activities given the specifics of teaching general technical sciences.
