Abstract

Competence guidelines of modern school literary education indicate the need to reveal the culturological foundations of the school literary education content in the historical and pedagogical aspect of 1991–2016. Such a need implies the actualization and creative introducing of the accumulated methodical experience in the practice of foreign literature teaching/learning on a culturological basis, identifying innovative ideas of Ukrainian scholars and methodologists to implement a culturological approach in foreign literature teaching/learning. The study aims at updating the leading ideas of Ukrainian scholars and methodologists related to the theoretical understanding and practical implementation of the culturological approach to teaching foreign literature in general secondary education, based on a constructive and critical analysis of the educational and methodological works of Ukrainian researchers.
