Abstract

Over the past decades, significant progress has been made in studying the mechanisms of development and diagnosis of diseases' treatment. However, these achievements are not fully implemented in clinical practice, which does not always allow achieving the desired effectiveness. Quite often, the patient's adherence to treatment is crucial in both the treatment and rehabilitation. The crucial component that allows to achieve a high level of adherence is the effective interaction of the doctor with the patient. A high level of adherence significantly positively affects most indicators. Treatment adherence is defined as the degree of compliance with medical guidelines for lifestyle changes, regular visits to the doctor, and taking prescribed medications and procedures. The paper provides a theoretical analysis of adherence to treatment, in particular in the rehabilitation, as well as non-adherence to treatment and its main causes (socio-economic, medical and individual). And, accordingly, the components of dislike related to the role of the patient: the active decision of the patient to stop treatment or change the scheme in connection with the improvement of the condition; refusal of treatment due to frustration with the expected effect or deterioration of the condition, or due to information (heard, seen) about side effects. The concept of "compliance" and its influencing factors are considered. Significant factors of preventive diagnosis of treatment adherence are presented. Stable and dynamic personality traits (neuroticism, extraversion, tendency to agree, honesty, openness of experience, locus of control), current emotional state and intellectual and motivational readiness to actively participate in the rehabilitation are determined. A list of the practice of using special scales and questionnaires that can be applied to determine adherence to treatment in the rehabilitation is revealed
