A CONCEPTUAL STUDY ON MOODHAGARBHA

Moodhagarbha is the obstruction of the labor due to abnormal position of the fetus during the first stage of labor thus resisting the movement of the fetus for normal delivery. In the different samhitas of Ayurveda the etiology, classification and treatment of Moodhagarbha is detailed aptly. Moodhagarbha is a one of a life threatening problems for the fetus as well as the mother and mostly requires surgical intervention in today’s era also. An attempt has been made to analyze and present the study of Moodhagarbha systematically according to Ayurveda.
