Abstract
The article discusses the specifics of modern vocational education and the potential for its moderniza- tion, in order to search for effective innovations in the educational process, for the preparation of professionals and specialists that are competitive in the labor market. On the basis of modern publications, the authors carry out a comparative description of practice-oriented methods of training students of secondary vocational educa- tion. The interaction of educational structures with employers is the most important aspect of ensuring the effec- tiveness of the training of personnel in demand on the labor market. The authors come to the conclusion that the competencies that students receive should be closely related to the reality and needs of employers, and not spe- cific employers, but the overall labor market
