Abstract
This paper analyzes the state of kadis employed in Harput, a sub-province in Anatolia by making use of the five court registers belonging to the second half of 17th century. It is dealt with the duties and tasks of kadis in many respect in a sub-provincial city Harput. Teoritically we are testing what we know of kadis as to their responsibilities in sub-provincial Harput.
