The technology of using the scientometric database Scopus for evaluating the effectiveness of pedagogical research

Abstract
The work describes the technology of using information and digital technologies (in particular, the Scopus scientometric database) to evaluate the effectiveness of pedagogical research. Thus, using research, explanatory, illustrative, and heuristic methods, various forms of using the Scopus NDB were considered – both to evaluate the effectiveness of pedagogical research of an individual scientist (review of general data, scientometric indicators – h-index, the total number of citations, total number of publications; activity by years, popularity of publications by year, citations of individual publications, determination of the place (rank) of a scientist in an institution, etc.), as well as a particular institution (review of general data, number of publications, number of authors, ratings of authors according to various criteria, topics of publications, cooperation with other institutions, etc.). In order to improve the content of the retraining of scientific-pedagogical and scientific workers regarding the evaluation of the effectiveness of pedagogical research, the following were selected: 1) information and digital technologies were selected (in particular, NDB, including Scopus) were selected for the evaluation of the effectiveness of pedagogical research; 2) the content of the retraining of scientific-pedagogical and scientific workers in the form of professional development has been improved, taking into account the improvement of the training process regarding the evaluation of the effectiveness of pedagogical research using information and digital technologies (in particular, the Scopus database); 3) the course "Information and digital technologies in evaluating the effectiveness of pedagogical research" was developed and implemented to familiarize with the features of the use of various information and digital technologies in the retraining of scientific-pedagogical and scientific workers, as well as the educational and methodological complex of the course was developed accordingly; 4) recommendations were developed for the use of information and digital technologies (in particular, the Scopus database) for evaluating the effectiveness of pedagogical research. The article can be useful for scientific and pedagogical workers and researchers to improve their digital competence.
