Strategic directions of foreign policy security of Ukraine: problems and prospects

The article examines the problems and prospects of the strategic directions of Ukraine's foreign policy security based on taking into account such factors as: the geopolitical position of Ukraine, the integration of Ukraine into the European communities, ensuring the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, countering the aggressive policy of the Russian Federation, the course towards membership in the EU and NATO. The article also examines the "Strategy of Ukraine's foreign policy activity", according to which measures are taken to strengthen the state's position in the region, strengthen its role as a contributor to Euro-Atlantic security, expand the geography of security and economic partnership, intensify participation in the activities of universal and regional international organizations, measures related to them reformation, creation of new regional formats of international cooperation. With the help of the Strategy, an analysis of current processes in the international environment, Ukraine's place and role in them, as well as promising ways of foreign policy development was carried out. It was determined that the geopolitical position of Ukraine makes it not only an integral part of the European and Euro-Atlantic security systems, but also an important economic and logistical hub in the region. It was established that the priorities of foreign policy activity are, in particular: ensuring the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine; opposition to the aggressive policy of the Russian Federation; EU and NATO membership course; protection of the rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens abroad; promotion of Ukrainian exports and attraction of foreign investments; technological and ecological transformation of Ukraine; promoting a positive image of our state in the world. Particular attention is also paid to the establishment of new political ties, the development of trade and economic partnership, the dissemination of reliable information about the development and achievements of Ukraine. Along with defining the specific goals and priorities of foreign policy for the medium term, due attention is paid to providing the tools necessary for their achievement.
