Abstract
The Right to information or the right to freedom of information refers to an individual's right or freedom to seek public information. It is information means any material relating to the affairs, administrative or decision of a public authority. It is mandatory that the flow of the information must be free. The great democratizing power of information has given us all the chance to effect change and alleviate poverty in ways we cannot even imagine today. Right to information is a weapon to bring good governance in the country. It is true that right to information proved to be a tool in a great democracy to provide its citizens a functional transparency of the governance. The tool in the form of ‘right to information' is available for every citizen of India. It is necessary to know the applicability of the Right to Information Act.
