Abstract
Purpose: A case study was conducted at SADC Plant Genetic Resources Centre on thirty-six employees to investigate the influence of fixed term employment on the flow of work at the institution. The specific objectives of the study were; (i) to investigate the influence of having fixed term employment on the workflow of SADC Plant Genetic Resources Centre, (ii) to suggest the necessary actions that need to be taken inorder to reduce the negative effects at the institution and (iii) to determine the ideal type of employment contract for senior employees superintending over longer term projects
