STRENGTH SPORTS AS A MEANS OF INCREASING THE LEVEL OF PHYSICAL FITNESS OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract
Introduction. A high level of indicators of physical health, functional capabilities of the body, and indicators of physical fitness of future defenders of Ukraine is the main goal of physical education of young men studying in high school. This provision becomes especially important with the introduction of martial law during the Russian aggression in our country. It is clear that the training of physically developed and strong defenders of Ukraine is possible only if the generally high level of the physical condition of high school students is achieved. Thus, the research that is aimed at finding ways to solve the specified problem with regard to its scientific justification, the development of experimental methods, and the determination of the degree of its effectiveness is timely and relevant. Purpose. The article aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of strength sports in extracurricular activities in the process of physical education of high school students in order to increase the level of their physical fitness. Methods. Analysis and generalization of data from scientific and methodical literature; pedagogical observations; pedagogical experiments; pedagogical testing; anthropometric and physiological research methods; methods of mathematical statistics. Results. The effectiveness of the application of the proposed program in the process of physical education with the predominant use of power sports has been proven on the basis of statistically reliable increases in the values of the students of the experimental group for the following manifestations of physical qualities: maximum strength, explosive strength, flexibility, speed abilities, coordination abilities, speed-strength, and power endurance. Originality. The use of strength sports equipment is an effective method of increasing the physical fitness of high school students, thereby justifying the structure and content of the proposed program based on strength sports equipment. Conclusion. Experimental verification of the proposed program based on the means of power sports in the physical education of high school students with the aim of improving their physical fitness showed that the level of their physical fitness increased at a statistically reliable level (р<0,05-р<0,01). Within the framework of the program, the improvement of indicators is from 9.52% to 89.78% according to indicators characterizing the manifestation of explosive and maximal strength, coordination and speed abilities, and flexibility. Therefore, this methodical approach has an efficiency of 5.73% to 54.02% for 11 indicators of control motor tests out of 19. The effectiveness of the proposed program is confirmed by the statistically reliable advantages of the boys of the experimental group in terms of speed abilities, explosive power, and coordination abilities (1.41%–8.03%) compared to the indicators of the students of the control group.
