Abstract

Introduction. A topical scientific question in the modern world is the problem of youth health. The study load of higher education students increases every year, which affects the physical and psychological state of the young man. Overtiredness, exhaustion, negative emotional states, and somatic diseases become the result. One of the ways to prevent their occurrence is the education of a culture of a healthy lifestyle. Pedagogical science has its technologies for solving the socially significant problem of health care for children, adolescents and youth through involvement in a healthy lifestyle. Purpose. To investigate and analyze the specifics of the impact of sports on some health indicators among students of higher education.Methods. The author's questionnaire and biomedical research were used to conduct the empirical part of the study: determination of levels of somatic health, adaptation potential, and physical condition. Fisher's test and Student's t-test were used for statistical analysis of the obtained results. Results. The analysis of the results obtained during the questionnaire shows the presence of significant differences (according to Fisher's φ-criterion) of different levels of significance in the answers of the respondents, which relate to leisure time, bad habits and motives for playing sports in a higher education institution. It is worth noting that the authoritative sources for health issues among the studied groups are friends and mass media, parents and teachers are not priority authorities on these issues. It should also be noted that the self-assessment of awareness of healthy lifestyle issues among the studied students of both groups does not differ significantly. Thus, students of higher education who systematically play sports have mostly active, socially positive leisure time; the minimum number of unhealthy habits; consider sports as one of the means of improving and maintaining one's own health and physical self- improvement; well-informed, informed about the culture of a healthy lifestyle. A biomedical study showed that students of higher education who systematically play sports have a higher index (indicator) of somatic health; better adaptation potential and physical condition. All this convincingly proves the usefulness of systematic sports for optimizing health in youth. Originality. For the first time, an empirical study of the health characteristics of higher education graduates who systematically engage in sports in comparison with those who do not engage in sports has been carried out. Conclusion. The study of the specifics of the attitude to health, its level, adaptation potential, etc. among students of higher education who systematically play sports in comparison with those who do not play sports, convincingly prove the positive influence of physical education and sports on the formation of a culture of a healthy lifestyle and health care. The implementation of pedagogical conditions for the formation of an attitude towards a healthy lifestyle among students of higher education contributes to their acquisition of knowledge on the theory and practice of the formation of a healthy lifestyle, a positive attitude towards the creation of their attitude towards a healthy lifestyle, a creative approach to the implementation of health preservation strategies. The development of innovative pedagogical technologies for the formation of a healthy lifestyle culture and the verification of their effectiveness is a promising direction for further research.
