Psychological features of the personality of convicts suffering from gambling addiction in the process of serving sentences

The article is devoted to the consideration of the psychological characteristics of a person suffering from gambling addiction at different stages, the views of scientists devoted to the problem of gambling addiction are considered, the problems of individual prevention of offenses on the part of convicts in correctional institutions of the penal system are studied. The main attention is paid to the category of convicts who are on preventive registration for organizing or actively participating in gambling in order to extract material or other benefits. The actions of these convicts, despite their small number, have significant negative consequences, which often take the form of illegal actions in favor of the criminal community, and in this regard pose a threat to the safety of not only convicts, but also correctional officers. The recommendations formulated in the article are given, which can be used in the activities of correctional officers aimed at improving the effectiveness of the profile.
