Abstract

The article discusses the theoretical aspects of the study of cognitive interest in primary school age, identifies approaches to its definition and features of development. It is determined that cognitive interest has a significant role in the development of educational motivation of the student, and also affects the level of his academic success and mastery of program content in specific academic disciplines.
