ONBOARDING AS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT HR PROCESSES IN IT COMPANIES

Abstract

Introduction. In recent years, the domestic IT market has been actively developing, more and more customers chose Ukrainian companies, which stimulated their constant growth, and even with the beginning of a full-scale war, when the situation on the IT market deteriorated significantly, the demand for highly qualified IT workers remains significant. In order to attract and retain professional specialists, companies have to conduct active onboarding during the adaptation work of the IT specialist, while applying the most effective methods and tools of the onboarding process. Accordingly, there is an active need to find new onboarding mechanisms, tools and systems for further professional development of highly qualified specialists in IT companies. Goal. The main purpose of this article is to study the main HR processes in IT companies, in particular the algorithm and tools of the onboarding process at all stages of supporting a new employee in IT companies, as well as the principles and methods of conducting the onboarding process, substantiating the importance and necessity of its implementation. Materials and methods. The research materials are the works of domestic authors who conduct scientific and practical research in the field of basic HR management processes, informative websites of IT companies and personnel management portals. In the process of carrying out the research, such scientific methods as theoretical generalization and grouping were used (to build a scheme of the main HR processes in the IT company); analysis and synthesis (to reflect the implementation of the onboarding process in IT companies); logical generalization of results (when formulating conclusions). The results. The article examines the main processes of HR management in IT companies, among which the employer brand, onboarding, a strategic plan for regulating the goals of a new employee, evaluation of a potential employee in an IT company, coaching, recognition programs, a motivation and incentive system are highlighted. The peculiarities of the onboarding process in different time periods are analyzed, in particular, the first day after signing the offer, the first week, month, 90 days and year of working in the company. The most important tools, as well as principles and methods for implementing the onboarding process by recruiters and HR managers in IT companies, are considered and characterized. Prospects. In further research, it is suggested to focus attention on other important processes of IT management, in particular recognition programs and incentive systems used by IT HR managers to support a new IT employee.
