Abstract

Introduction. Modern technologies change the ways of recording and saving information, expand the possibilities of obtaining the necessary information, and affect the educational system. Libraries will continue to be in demand, but the nature of their work, attitude towards them, and role in the real and digital space have changed. The urgency of preparing students to work with information in a library environment has increased. Purpose. The article aims to investigate the influence of the modern library on the information culture development of the future teacher's personality. Methods. The research used a comprehensive comparative, retrospective and prospective analysis of scientific works to study the state of the problem, tasks, functions, and areas of library activity, as well as a structural and systemic analysis of the information culture structure. The methods of generalization and abstraction made it possible to substantiate the possibilities of developing the information culture of future teachers in the library environment. Observation of the use process of library services by future teachers, and conversations with students and library employees made it possible to identify problems in working with information. With the help of the forecasting method, directions for the information culture development of the future teacher personality are outlined. Results. Since the individual, specialist and society have different meanings, the information culture for the future teacher was revealed to be its essence. The typical content is the essential element of information culture, which relate to information and data, information and communication technologies, and technological aspects. The variable content is supplemented by various subcultural formations related to the specifics of professional activity. For the future teacher, the variable content is related to the professional methodical activity. Enrichment of information flows and activation of information search are powerful factors in the development of its information culture. In the conditions of network knowledge, the future teacher must learn new methods of information search and its structuring. Since the production and dissemination of knowledge have activated the general information and communication processes in libraries, it has created opportunities for the effective use of information resources based on ICT. To avoid various information barriers and optimize efforts when working with information in libraries, students should be prepared using various library methods and forms. Originality. The novelty of the article is that based on the analysis of the essence and structure of the information culture of the future teacher and the possibilities of modern libraries, the author's view on the directions of its improvement in the library environment is highlighted. Conclusions. Today, the possibilities of libraries in the development of the information culture of society and the individual are related to the strategy of the team, creative problem-solving, and active cooperation with the external environment. Libraries in various forms remain the main source of providing information services, which depends on the category of users. A sign of modernity is the combination of the printed and digital worlds in the library, which indicates an individual approach to user service. To this end, they must constantly respond to changes in the socio-economic, cultural, incessant technological contexts
