Abstract

In this study, the overall aim was to achieve a comprehensive and holistic analysis of the works and studies related to teachers' organizational socialization, carried out between 2016 and 2020, and to reveal the similarities and differences in the latter. The research has been completed using a descriptive content analysis method, and the target group was obtained by scanning the databases of YÖK Ulusal Tez Merkezi (National Thesis Center), ULAKBİM, Google Scholar, ERIC, and Dergipark on two different dates. The research sample, consisting of 33 works and publications (including 18 thesis and 15 essays) carried out in Turkey between 2016 and 2020, has been determined using the purposeful sampling method. The results revealed that the works on the organizational socialization of teachers were primarily conducted in 2016, with a majority of single-author works, a focus on teachers in primary and secondary education levels, and a presence of works carried out in collaboration with preschool teachers (when taking into account specialty distribution). Regarding regional disparities, the results also showed a significant majority of works realized in the Marmara region. As per data collection, we can conclude that the scale factor has been the method of choice to gather data, with extensive use of quantitative research, and random sampling. In addition, depictive statistics and ANOVA analysis methods were largely used for the main works. As to the subject area distribution, the number of studies and works referring to the connection between organizational socialization and organizational unresponsiveness is more important. For future works, publications, and topic selections, these findings could thus help in choosing new subjects to treat among the least favored ones or serve as a guide to adopting new perspectives on already handled topics and contribute to literary works and publications.
