READING MODERNIST POETRY IN THE TWENTY FIRST CENTURY INDIA: RELEVANCE AND DISSENSIONS

This paper analyses the importance of reading Modernist poetry in contemporary India. While Modernist Poetry continues to be taught at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels at various universities, some postcolonial researchers and scholars have argued against the teaching of British Modernist poetry in contemporary India, calling it ‘colonial hangover.'
