Abstract
According to the centrifugal force created by the duct curvature, flow pattern through curved rectangular ducts appears different from fluid flow through straight ducts. Centrifugal force is generated by curved ducts through spiralling fluid motion and secondary flow vortices. The impact on the thermal characteristics was analysed on the phase distribution and flow patterns on unsteady laminar incompressible twophase flow in a porous medium through a rectangular curved duct. The relevant governing equations are represented by the Navier-Stokes equations, by Energy equation and by the Level set equation with boundary conditions. In this analysis, the phase distribution, the isothermal streamlines, the velocity contours, and the fluid volume fractions have all been graphically represented. Furthermore, displayed are the effects of the aspect ratio, porosity, Dean number, and radius of curvature. Additionally, a comparison of two-phase flow between various fluids is presented.
