Abstract

The work is devoted to the analysis of modern data on the spread of high-tech research (genomic fingerprinting) of blood traces and the need for identification of living persons in wartime. The author paid attention to the historical background of the widespread use of genomic fingerprinting in forensic and forensic practice, current scientific data on this type of identification and the problem of creating a local, regional and national DNA database. The author notes that a forensic medical examination for the identification of a living person involves criminalists, forensic physicians and doctors of various specializations, i. e., the examination is always comprehensive. The author identifies the problems of creating a DNA database in the country and the limited knowledge of the population regarding the creation of individual genetic passports in wartime.
