Abstract

Relations on the Internet are quite specific and heterogeneous, and therefore I believe that the question of the need and feasibility of regulating this network is quite important. The Internet is a rather special environment that reflects the development of society, economy and technology. The Internet combines communicative relations between state bodies, individuals, social groups, and entrepreneurs. The quality, quantity and volume of information in this network changes every day. At the same time, this virtual space contains its own system of social communication, which gradually replaces traditional forms of information transactions with electronic ones, which are simpler and faster. This article examines the legal regulation of public relations on the Internet. It contains the main scientific views on the definition of the term “Internet”. In this work, I considered approaches to network management that are built on the international, regional, and national levels. The legislative norms regulating the Internet as a special information space and as a technological network were analyzed. This article emphasizes the importance of the state in regulating this network and establishing legislative support, while noting the importance of self-regulatory relations. As the Internet increasingly takes over social relations, such as: e-commerce, entertainment events, mass media, it becomes important to fully regulate these relations, first of all, by specialized bodies.
