Abstract

The rapid technological progress and continuous development of information technologies in the contemporary era of scientific and business processes bring forth the imperative for active implementation of modern systems designed for the collection, analysis, and interpretation of extensive volumes of data with the aim of formulating comprehensive strategies and making well-founded decisions. Information and analytical support, which underpin business decisions, currently emerge as crucial instruments for achieving efficiency and innovation in the modern business environment. The scientific community is presently actively researching various facets of information and analytical support and their impact on decision-making processes in business. These investigations encompass the analysis of artificial intelligence applications, the examination of the history of decision support systems, research into predictive analytics, and the role of information and analytical support across various business domains. The principal objective of this scientific article is to scrutinize the essence and potential of information and analytical support as innovative instruments fostering increased competitiveness for enterprises amid market uncertainties and dynamic changes. The article provides an in-depth examination of two subsystems of information and analytical support: the expert decisionmaking system and the operational data analysis system. Information and analytical support encompass a wide array of tools and systems intended for data collection, processing, analysis, and utilization, all geared towards facilitating decision-making and achieving strategic goals. Given the diversity of requirements and peculiarities across different business sectors, the article presents the results of systematization and classification of information and analytical support based on various criteria such as functionality, specialization, scale of utilization, data types, application domains, and types of tools. The utilization of information and analytical support enables the enhancement of decision quality, prompt responses to market changes, and the streamlining of routine operations. However, the use of information and analytical support necessitates high-quality and accurate input data and careful consideration of potential errors during data analysis and interpretation.
