THE CURRENT STATE AND PROBLEMS OF THE FUNCTIONING OF THE STOCK MARKET OF UKRAINE

The article examines the current state and highlights the main problems that prevent the effective functioning of the stock market in Ukraine. The essence and meaning of the stock market was revealed and it was clarified that it is the most important component of the financial market, which plays an important role in the economic development of each state, which allows to ensure the inflow of investments for enterprises and organizations, as well as to provide investors with an additional volume of financial assets. The dynamics of issuance of emission securities in Ukraine and the volume of financial instrument trading at operators of organized capital markets by type of market are given. It has been established that currently the stock market in Ukraine is not very efficient and has an insufficient level of development. The main problems that prevent the effective functioning of the stock market in Ukraine are highlighted, which are related to: significant shortcomings of the regulatory and legal support for the activity of this market; the existence of contradictions of certain aspects of the activity of this market with international principles; the presence of deficiencies in the procedure for quoting securities; the lack of a single model of stock exchange functioning; insufficient activity of stock market participants; the presence of tax pressure on public enterprises; low level of liquidity; high level of dependence on the global stock market; unfavorable political and economic situation in the state; high level of shadowing of the economy. Ways to solve these problems are given, in particular by creating the proper prerequisites for the efficient operation of the stock market infrastructure; development of an effective cooperation mechanism of all stock market participants; integration of the domestic stock market to the world level; identification and resolution of deficiencies in the regulatory and legal provision of the activity of this market; implementation of an effective state policy regarding the improvement of investment attractiveness; improvement of information support tools; use of all existing methods in order to harmonize the domestic stock market with international principles.
