Abstract
Ntroduction. The priority tasks of a modern school are the formation of an active attitude of students to acquiring knowledge, teaching them to think independently, innovatively and creatively, to make effective decisions and take responsibility for their implementation. The introduction of a competency-based approach to learning has led to changes in the educational model and the transition from impersonal to personally oriented, from monotonous to variable, from adaptive to developmental, from knowledge-based to activity-based, from traditional to innovative. The global modernization of the educational process demonstrates the effectiveness of learning forms in which independent methods of acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills become the main ones. Traditional forms of education do not fully ensure that students develop the competences necessary for successful professional activity. Purpose. To investigate the essence of project activity as an innovative technology of educational process; to outline ways of organizing project activity of senior pupils at Ukrainian language lessons. Methods. The research used the following methods: analysis of linguistic sources to find out the state of development of the problem; a descriptive method that combines observation, interpretation and generalization of linguistic and methodical material.Results. It has been found that project activity is an individual constructive and productive activity aimed at solving a vital problem, achieving the final result in the process of goal setting, planning and implementation of a project. The project method always presupposes the presence of either a subjectively significant or socially significant problem. The project must have clear and realistically achievable goals. In the most general sense, its goal is to solve a problem. The product created by the author is also a means of solving the project problem. With this in mind, the initial clarification of the problem, the formulation of goals, and the creation of an intellectual image of the product are the first signs of a project.Originality. The theoretical foundations of the project activities organization of senior pupils are substantiated, taking into account the personal and activity approach, age and senior pupils' individual characteristics; the essence, structure and project activity peculiarities are clarified; the basic requirements for using the projects method at Ukrainian language lessons have been developed; methodical recommendations for the project activity organization at Ukrainian language lessons for senior pupils are proposed. Conclusion. Therefore, project activity is considered as a means of developing and improving key competencies of the 21st century (critical thinking, creativity, cooperation, communication), a way to increase motivation and create a situation of success in learning. The use of project technologies allows students to prepare for accepting and solving problems that they will have to solve in their professional activities and in life. Project activity develops leadership qualities, teaches to take responsibility for the results of one's work, instill the need to acquire new knowledge, opens up prospects for lifelong learning.
