The methodology of the article is based on the application of general scientific methods, namely: systemic, conceptual analysis, functional and comparative. The study of the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian war on acquisition technology led to the use of comparative and functional methods. The problem-thematic method was used to understand the main problems, the solution of which contributes to the replenishment of the National Archival Fоnd with new acquisitions of audiovisual documents. The scientific novelty is determined by the author's interpretation of the concept of «operative acquisitions», within which, on the basis of a comprehensive analysis, methodological and practical developments in the field of acquisition of archival audiovisual collections are investigated. The composition and content of the audiovisual documents which included to the archival collections based on the results of the value examination are characterized. The archive's proactive documentation of the events and consequences of Russian armed aggression is noted as an important component of the acquiring process. The prospects for further studies. The results of the study proved the need to rethink the practice of acquiring archival audiovisual collections, the need to continue discussions, as well as further research both of the policy itself in the context of the reality of war, and most of the tools developed and used by archivists today.
