Abstract
The article, based on unpublished archival documents, examines the biography of the corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Oleksiy Mykolayovych Boholyubov (1911–2004), details his life and activities during the tragic years of Stalinist terror, when he was repressed and served his sentence in Norilsk. The purpose of the article is to expand information about the life and activities of O. Boholyubov on the basis of archival documents stored in the Institute of Archival Studies of the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, the Archives of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and on the basis of the scientist's memories of the years of Stalinist repressions. The research methodology is based on the principles of historicism, systemicity, and objectivity. General historical methods of analysis, synthesis and special historical methods were used. The study of archival documents were conducted on the basis of archival-heuristic, archeographic, historical-biographical methods and interdisciplinary approaches. Scientific novelty. For the first time, the biographical documents of the personal fond of O. Boholyubov were included in the scientific circulation, new touches were added to the portrait of the scientist, and the circumstances of his conviction and stay in exile in Norilsk were analyzed. Conclusions. Analysis of unpublished biographical documents stored in the scientist's personal fund in the Institute of Archival Studies of the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine and little-studied memoirs of O. Boholyubov make it possible to expand information about the scientist life, especially about the first stages of his activity, which fell on the days of Stalin's repressions. The revealed documents made it possible to create a more accurate portrait of the scientist with the aim of further in-depth study of his creative heritage. Prospects for further research consist in the study of O. Boholyubov's creative output based on the documents of his personal fond, which have significant source and information potential and can become the basis for new scientific investigations by specialists in various fields of science.
