Abstract
This study aims to find out what electronic blackmail is according to the Jordanian law and why it is hard to prove and stop it. The study also looked at the penalties for this crime and how they compare to other laws that address it. The study began by looking at a problem with the laws in Jordan. The problem was that the laws may not cover everything they need to. To compare this work with Egyptian laws, we need to know if it just needs a general intention to break the law or a specific intention. The study used the analytical approach to read and analyze legal texts and court decisions because it responds to the research's goals. The research reached a lot of conclusions, the most important of which is that the Jordanian government recognized how serious electronic blackmail is, and they made special laws to deal with it and came up with solutions to help prove these crimes and inform the authorities about them. The study also presented a number of recommendations, like: considering hurtful things online a crime, punishing and making accountable anyone who does these things, educating people about their dangers, and creating a method to monitor these actions.
